Personal and genealogical papers of the Dean of the WVU College of Engineering from 1911 to 1932. The papers deal with academic pursuits including the controversy over the reorganization of the Engineering College in 1931-32, and his social and professional activities. Four boxes contain genealogical notes and history on some of the first Ohio Valley families including the Wickliffe, Harden, Monroe, Gambrill, and Jones families. Correspondence, newspapers, and newspaper clippings concerning the service records of West Virginia University students, former students, and alumni collected by Dean C. R. Jones for the compilation of the University Honor Roll. Also several bulletins, pamphlets, and circulars on the war activities of various university and veteran's hospitals, including: West Virginia Wesleyan, Shepherd College, University of Arizona, University of Cincinnati, Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, and U.S. Army Hospital No. 17 at Markleton, Pennsylvania. One brochure regarding Lt. Darwin Berry and one memorial address on the life and Character of Roy Earl Parrish.
