Correspondence, newspapers, and newspaper clippings concerning the service records of West Virginia University students, former students, and alumni collected by Dean C. R. Jones for the compilation of the University Honor Roll. Also several bulletins, pamphlets, and circulars on the war activities of various university and veteran's hospitals, including: West Virginia Wesleyan, Shepherd College, University of Arizona, University of Cincinnati, Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, and U.S. Army Hospital No. 17 at Markleton, Pennsylvania. One brochure regarding Lt. Darwin Berry and one memorial address on the life and Character of Roy Earl Parrish.

Personal and genealogical papers of the Dean of the WVU College of Engineering from 1911 to 1932. The papers deal with academic pursuits including the controversy over the reorganization of the Engineering College in 1931-32, and his social and professional activities. Four boxes contain genealogical notes and history on some of the first Ohio Valley families including the Wickliffe, Harden, Monroe, Gambrill, and Jones families. Collection contains histories of the Hardin, Iglehart, Kincheloe, Waters, Wickliffe, and allied families such as Neal, Logan, Foley, Lewis, Peadro, Phelps, Monroe, Dils, McQuilkin, and others. Collection also includes Jones' correspondence relating to the above genealogies and some newspaper clippings.

Collection contains materials documenting the Corr-Hogge family including H.L. Corr, Levi Pace Corr, Harry and Jean Corr among others. Collection includes correspondence, ledgers and journals dating from the 19th century. Topics covered include World Warr II.

The correspondence and notes of Corinne E. Cutright, principally concerning her work as a genealogist, containing information on many family names, see processing notes for partial listing. There are, also, newspaper clippings and miscellaneous printed material regarding Upshur County, Harrison County, and general West Virginia history; obituaries; Civil War; and a list of Revolutionary War soldiers and pensioners.

The main part of this collection is comprised of obituaries clipped from Buckhannon, Clarksburg and Parkersburg newspapers, 1926-1939. Also 17 issues of Buckhannon and Clarksburg newspapers, 1917-1938; and the roto section of the Sunday Herald, Boston Mass., Aug 10, 1924 featuring reproductions of Civil War pictures in the Library of Congress, including several concerning WV. Some correspondence of Iva, Corrine, Allene, Mollie and Pearl Cutright, including a few letters from school friends, but mainly concerning D. A. R. activities. Items on the genealogy of the Coffman and Wolfe families, and notes on some early settlers in the vicinity of Buckhannon, including Carney, Westfall and Cutright families. Pamphlets on the 40th anniversary of Oklahoma City; Crossnore School, Crossnore, NC, and a handbook for the Exhibition Buildings of Williamsburg, VA, 1937.

Papers, 1826-1843, of the Dade family of King George County, Va. Includes letters received by General John B. Dade, his wife, Eliza Dade, and their daughter, Margaret S. Dade as well as letters to another relative Edward Smith. The collection includes a genealogical column, 1910, from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, which concerns the Dade, Daingerfield, Battaile, Hove, and Fitzhugh families.
