This collection consists of a notebook compiled by Cadet James A. Forsythe and a graduation bible. The notework contains copied poetry and company rosters. Forsythe's photograph album is also available in the VMI Archives.

James Adger Forsythe was born in 1853 in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from VMI in 1875 and went on to become a businessman and lawyer. Forsythe died in 1925.
