<p>This collection consists of a notebook compiled by Cadet James A. Forsythe and a graduation bible. The notework contains copied poetry and company rosters. Forsythe's photograph album is also available in the VMI Archives.</p>  </scopecontent>

<p>James Adger Forsythe was born in 1853 in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from VMI in 1875 and went on to become a businessman and lawyer. Forsythe died in 1925.</p>  </bioghist>
