This collection consists of correspondence (8 letters; dated 1894-1895) from Erasmus G. Hinton to his father. Harley R. Hinton (VMI Class of 1896), the writer's twin brother, is frequently mentioned. Other topics include grades, requests for money, and personal matters. One additional letter is dated February 25, 1907.

Biographical / historical:

Erasmus Gill Hinton was born in 1876 in Reelsville, Indiana. He graduated VMI in 1896 and went on to become a businessman in Richmond, Virginia. He died in 1946.
