Papers of the Broome family of Richmond, Virginia. Includes 2 diaries of Louise B. Taliaferro from a 1924 European trip and one diary of an unknown woman from a 1924 European trip. Includes photographs, genealogical material, legal and business papers and correspondence, including letters of Talbot Broome during voyages to South America.

Bound journal, March 7- June 9, 1922, kept by Charlton Yarnall, describing his family's vacation travel from Philadelphia to Algeria, Italy, France and England. The typed journal, 88 pp., includes pictures and postcards. Family members mentioned in the journal are his wife Anna Coxe and his daughter Agnes, age 17.

A 77 page scrapbook containing 50 postcards, 3 dried flowers, 7 photos, and 254 pages of letters written by Genevieve Kerdell. Kerdell sent the letters and postcards to her parents over the course of her travels through Europe in 1928. The countries visited include Italy, France, Germany, and England.

Included in the collection are correspondence, photographs, and journals written by and collected by Ganter while a student at William and Mary, correspondence and clippings about information from Swem Library's holdings while Ganter was College Archivist, and correspondence pertaining to the restoration of Williamsburg in the 1930s.

Fragment of scrapbook of trips to Europe, Bermuda made by members of the F. H. Maguire family of Richmond, Va. in 1911, 1917-1919 and 1926. Contains postcards, exhibit catalogs and tourist literature. The postcards, 1917-1919, of France were collected by [F.H. Maguire ?] who served as a captain in the U. S. Air Service. The collection includes passenger lists from the S.S. Coronia, May 23, 1911 (Liverpool to New York), R.M.S.P. Orea, June 19, 1926 (New York to Cherbourg and Southampton), and R.M.S.P. Avon, March 7, 1929 (New York to Bermuda.)

Typescript of diary, 1937, of Rosalie Durrette Jones McLeod of a trip aboard a steamer with her father in the summer of 1937 before she entered the College of William and Mary as a student. Among the places visited were; Berlin, Warsaw, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa, Istanbul, Athens, Cairo, Jerusalem, Naples, Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Lucerne, Geneva, Paris, Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam, and London. Collection also contains a photograph of Rosalie D. J. McLeod and her father.

A 1929 European travel scrapbook, documenting the travels of Americans Mr. and Mrs. G. H. E. Sigwald and Mrs. J Doughty through the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Weimar Germany. Includes interwar postcards of cities including London, Statford-on-Avon, Oxford, Hampton Court, Brussels, Paris, Geneva, Interlaken, Lucerne, Zurich, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Koblenz, Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin, Ansbach, Munich, Rotterdam, Nuremberg, Potsdam, Rothenburg, and Bremen, as well as miscellaneous travel and attraction tickets. Includes organic samples of English Heather and Swiss Edelweiss. Particularly noteworthy are postcards of Dresden, Rotterdam, and Berlin which depict parts of the city at their 20th century height during the Weimar Republic, as many of the historic centers of these cities were almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. This collection also includes a novelty postcard from Ansbach, which depicts a German postman carrying a mailbag, which opens up to reveal multiple smaller postcards in accordion fold.

Diary, 1929, of the trip of an American college student to Hamsburg, Germany, who traveled with his parents and his brother aboard the SS Franconia. Countries visited include Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, Scotland and England. Entries include information about his departure, his activities aboard ship, and fellow passengers. Also includes details of the locations which they visited, hotels they stayed at, as well as the restaurants, shows they saw, and operas they attended.

Diaries, accounts and address book of Anna P. (Anne) Warner (b. 1876) of Washington D.C. and Rebecca P. (Bess) Warner, sisters of Washington, D.C. The sisters came from a well-off family and traveled extensively in Europe. They remained single and shared an apartment. It has not been determined if one of the two 1899 diaries and the address book were kept by one of the sisters or by another family member.
