Special Collections includes manuscript collections, rare books, and the University Archives, as well as state, local and historical maps and photographs. The collection contains more than 350 maps dating from the 1920s to the late 1980s, depicting U.S. states; regions of North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Pacific Islands, Antarctica, and the Arctic Circle; and celestial bodies. In addition, there are more than a dozen travel guides, mostly for cities and regions in France and Italy.
