In addition, there are more than a dozen travel guides, mostly for cities and regions in France and Italy.

Scope and content:

The collection contains more than 350 maps dating from the 1920s to the late 1980s. The majority of the maps depict U.S. states and regions of the United States. Other maps include regions of North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Pacific Islands, Antarctica, and the Arctic Circle, as well as celestial bodies. In addition, there are more than a dozen travel guides, mostly for cities and regions in France and Italy.

Acquisition information:
The Robert Holman Map Collection was donated to Special Collections in two accessions, one in November 1991 and another in October 1992.
Processing information:

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Robert Holman Map Collection was completed in March 2013.

Arrangement:

In general, the maps and guides are arranged from smallest unit (states) to largest (world, planetary, and space). The U.S. state maps are arranged alphabetically by state. The U.S. regional maps are arranged by region from East to West.
