Includes materials related to the founding of the West Virginia United Students' Union and their activism at West Virginia University. Series 1 includes administrative material, like an early version of the organization's constitution, and protest items. Series 2 also includes both administrative material, like meeting minutes, and protest items, like signs used in the 2023 walkout. The protest items included in both series relate to WVUSU's efforts to combat the "WVU Transformation"/"Academic Transformation" budget cuts, reduction in force, and academic program elimination proposed by university administration in the spring of 2023.

Copies of speeches given by Dr. Gee during his various terms as President of West Virginia University (1981-1985; 2014-2025), the University of Colorado (1985-1990), Ohio State University (1990-1998; 2007-2013), Brown University (1998-2000), and as Chancellor of Vanderbilt University (2000-2007). This collection also includes news articles spawned from Gee's speeches, pre-event briefings, and correspondence related to Gee's speeches. Many speeches have digital copies available.
