Facsimiles of historical documents. Land grant to William Cleaver and others for 1,000 acres on the Monongahela River, 1782; certificate for money due B. Cleaver for service in the Virginia Militia, 1783; affidavits concerning the military service of William and Benjamin Cleaver, 1774-1782, in Dunmore's War, at the Falls of the Ohio, and on General George Rogers Clark's expedition against the Indians, including the Shawnee. There is also a petition, 1777, by residents of the Tygart Valley, West Fork of the Monongahela, and Buckhannon Creek settlements requesting the formation of a new county. There are four typed pages dated January 1-9, 1969, with information about the Cleaver Family - William and Hannah; William, Jr.; Benjamin; and Stephen.

Personal and genealogical papers of the Dean of the WVU College of Engineering from 1911 to 1932. The papers deal with academic pursuits including the controversy over the reorganization of the Engineering College in 1931-32, and his social and professional activities. Four boxes contain genealogical notes and history on some of the first Ohio Valley families including the Wickliffe, Harden, Monroe, Gambrill, and Jones families. Highway maps for the 55 counties of West Virginia created in 1937. They are in two tones (blue on white), in varying dimensions (including items in the range of 36 in. x 36 in. to 36 in. x 58 in., etc.), and scaled to 1 inch equaling 1 mile. Features indicated on the maps include: roads (US, primary state roads, secondary state roads); state, county, district, and corporate lines; railroads; streams; parks and forests; highway bridges; county seats; cities and villages; lodges; farms; houses; businesses; oil and gas wells; commercial airfields; schools; churches; mines; power plants; factories; hotels; and other information.
