The collection includes five boxes of membership applications; four boxes of subject-related files, including committee papers, the government and bylaws of ACMS, resolutions passed, and the women's auxiliary; one box of minutes from years 1951 to 2001; one box of correspondence from 1948-2002; and three boxes of financial records beginning in 1933. There is one photograph of nineteen of the presidents of the ACMS taken in 1981. The addition received in November 2019 was processed into four additional boxes generally maintaining the order in which they arrived which was primarily chronological. Those four boxes include meeting minutes, meeting speakers (some with the typed presentation), meeting attendance, membership lists, membership applications, Continuing Education documents, and Medical Society of Virginia documents.

The Sally H. Thomas papers (1968-2010; 76 cubic feet) document the political career of Sally H. Thomas as a member of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, as well as a member of the Albemarle County School Board. The materials in this collection mainly consist of Albemarle County Board of Supervisors correspondence, reports, budgets, site plans and maps, city-planning documents and publications, and related printed materials. Some of the topics emphasized are conservation, rural preservation, community services, infrastructure, and transportation planning as key features of Sally Thomas' career. Materials mostly include Albemarle County planning with some Charlottesville city planning documents, and Albemarle County School Board budgets and plans as well. The materials document the development needs of the Albemarle/Charlottesville area as population and economic growth increased, and highlight the attempt to balance economic and residential development with environmental conservation needs and the interests of rural areas.

This addition to MSS 5520, Albemarle Garden Club records (Periwinkle Cottage), contains one thumb drive with text description of the Garden Club of America's Garden History & Design Committee, 2016 (incl. planting lists, licenses, copies of articles, and possibly photos) and one folder labeled AGC Periwinkle Cottage 2017, Albemarle Garden Club Zone VII, Periwinkle garden Submission 2017. The folder contains miscellaneous papers and one disc labeled "Smithsonian Archives of American Gardens: Periwinkle Cottage Garden," containing photos and captions.

Papers of artist Max Hayslette, native West Virginian and longtime resident of Washington state, documenting his early life, his travels, and his work in industrial design and painting. There is a scrapbook from his youth in Rupert, West Virginia, prints of his artwork, photographs documenting his travels, and articles and news clippings about him and his work. There are also items related to his donation of a painting to the Rainelle Area Planning Commission to assist with their town restoration (in West Virginia). These items include an album of Rainelle student artwork given to him, a key to the city of Rainelle, a Distinguished West Virginian Award, and various clippings.

This collection contains essays and papers related to the history of the University of Virginia compiled by Alexander G. "Sandy" Gilliam, a University of Virginia alumnus, administrator, and historian. The content dates range from 1921 to 2019. Correspondence and greeting cards between Gilliam and University administrators, historians, and alums are present, as are forty special interest essays written by Gilliam on obscure University of Virginia historical subject matter. The essays discuss historical maps of the University, University Presidents, road nomenclature, secret societies, the history of buildings, the Rotunda, the Lawn, University faculty, and the evolution of student life. Also included are programs from University dinners, building grand openings, groundbreaking ceremonies, Final Exercises, dedications, funerals, on-Grounds weddings, and other events collected by Gilliam.

This collection contains materials collected by Alexander "Sandy" Gilliam in his role as University of Virginia Historian. Included are professional and personal correspondence, lectures, notes, letters, clippings, and promotional material. This addition pertains to committee's he served on, lectures and papers he produced about the University of Virginia, correspondence with guests to the university, correspondence to Gilliam on a variety of topics including his retirement, recipients of the Alexander Gilliam Medical Scholarship, and other correspondents. Also included are promotional materials and ephemera collected from events at the University like the Inauguration of President Ryan and the retirement of faculty. It also includes the book "Recollections of a Virginia Gentleman" by Lawrence Grim, Jr.
