The University Library Collection consists of materials related to the business and operations of the Dabney Lancaster Library (1939-1991) and the Janet D. Greenwood Library (1991-current). These materials include: correspondence, committee information, reports, workshops and programs, fiscal information, meeting minutes, staff files, partnerships, donations, and information pertaining to accessions and holdings.

The materials in this collection date from 1848-1974 and are arranged in three main categories: 1: Materials related to Dr. Lancaster's father, Robert Alexander Lancaster, 2: Materials related to General George Doherty Johnston and his wife Stella Johnston. 3: Materials related to Dr. Dabney S. Lancaster.

This collection contains records, correspondence, and articles from the Joan Circle Chapter of Alpha Delta Rho and its later incarnation Alpha Kappa Gamma.

This collection includes a variety of materials, including scrapbooks from 1933-2011, composites from 1949-2018, photographs, VHS tapes, memorabilia and membership records.

This collection contains ledgers, meeting minutes, correspondences, memoirs, letters, photos, newspapers and magazines, and programs from the Alumni Association between the years of 1950 - 2007. These materials are from events such as Board Meetings, Founders Day, and Fall and Spring council meetings.

This collection contains information relating to the Institute of Southern Culture's finances, administrative records, correspondences, lectures, publications, and programming and promotion. Items in the collection consist of paper documents with dates ranging from 1955-1976.

Collection includes blueprints and building plans for Longwood buildings that have been renovated or are no longer on campus. These are the historical blueprints for these buildings and do not reflect the current layout or structure of buildings. Buildings included French, Swimming Pool, Moss (Curry), Johns (Frazier), Jarman, Crafts House, Training School (Hiner), Wynne Training School, Grainger, Rotunda, Stubbs, Wheeler, Cox.

This collection includes multiple different Audio Visual formats including, Audio Reel to Reel, 8mm and 16mm film reels, Betamax, Umatic, VHS, DVD, CD, MiniDVs, Audio Cassette tapes. The recordings cover a variety of University, departmental, and student events, raw footage from promotional videos and Longwood productions, such as the Longwood Show, materials related to the Rotunda fire in 2001, speeches, meetings, student life and other events on campus.

This collection consists of personal and biographical items from the life and professorship of Barbara L. Bishop. These items are categorized under the following headings: Photographs, Biographical Documents, Framed Certificates, Diplomas, and Longwood Commemorative Pewter and Boxes.

This collection contains letters, newspaper clippings and photos, of Mamie Hubbard Andrews, Janie Hubbard Jones, Barbara Andrews, and Betty Andrews Eike. As well as general ephemera from Longwood throughout the years they were related to the institution.
