This collection contains ledgers, meeting minutes, correspondences, memoirs, letters, photos, newspapers and magazines, and programs from the Alumni Association between the years of 1950 - 2007. These materials are from events such as Board Meetings, Founders Day, and Fall and Spring council meetings.

Biographical / historical:

The Longwood University Alumni Association was originally organized by 7 alumnae in 1887. The nature of the association is to promote the interests of the University, specifically to maintain fellowship, loyalty, and service. One of the compilers of this collection, Nancy Shelton, was the former director of Alumni Relations.

Custodial history:

This is an artificial collection that was acquired from the Alumni Association. Some of the material was collected and compiled by the former director of Alumni Relations, Nancy Shelton.
