The 1975 Campus Construction Proposal with Associated Photos collection contains a binder that details a proposal for renovation and restoration of campus buildings along with 7 duplicate photos. Also included are yearly student enrollment numbers between the years of 1964 and 1975, proposed budgets, and brief histories of each building in the proposal.

The Christopher Howard Papers 2009-2016, contains ephemera, correspondence, and photographs documenting the presidency of Dr. Christopher Howard as the 24th president of Hampden-Sydney College from his inauguration until his resignation. Not included in the collection are details about the hiring process of Dr. Howard, other than his submitted documents, and details about his resignation.

The Letter from Mathew Carey to W. B. Randolph, Esq., 1826, contains one letter that discusses Mathew Carey's stance on immigration policy. Not included in the collection are the thoughts and policies of the letter recipient, W. B. Randolph, or the current policies of the United States at the time of the letter.

The Margaret Venable (nee Dickinson) letters contains correspondence relating to familial matters and social information from 1833-1918. Some of the topics discussed include schooling at Hampden-Sydney College, the Civil War, courtships, weddings, new children, and deaths. Not included in the collection are specific details about the Civil War or specifics about classes Hampden-Sydney College.

The Samuel Stanhope Smith Lectures, 1805-1811, contains three books documenting the lectures given by Samuel Stanhope Smith in 1806 while at Princeton University. The lectures are on moral philosophy and moral theology. Not included in the collection is information about Hampden Sydney College or Princeton University.

The Science Building Records (Gilmer Hall) 1941-1971, collection contains correspondence, proposals, memoranda, architectural drawings, and alcohol permits relating to the building and maintenance of a science building on campus known as Gilmer Hall. Not included in the collection are documents regarding individual department purchases or information about the current science building, Pauley Science Center. Also included are some documents regarding Herbert Sipe and the chemistry department.

The Student Lecture Notes and Exercise Books, CA-000118, collection contains notebooks created by students at Hampden-Sydney College. The notebooks (9 in total, belonging to 7 students) have class lecture notes and various exercises for Science classes and Latin classes. Not included are professor notes or lesson plans.

The Topography Maps collection (1984-2006) contains topographic maps and land surveys documenting (or relating to) Farmville, Hampden-Sydney, Slate Hill Plantation, and other surrounding areas. Not included in the collection are photographs of the land of the aforementioned locations nor maps of locations in other states.
