The Haddock papers were generated in the late 1940's and early 1950's as teaching aids and in preparation for a master's thesis and publication of a textbook. The collection contains information on Virginia authors, musicians and history. The extensive bibliography and comprehensive notes listing research material in these areas allow researchers to work from an established guide to reference materials examined by Haddock. The collection represents a necessary starting point for those interested in documenting Virginia's past. The collection contains newspaper clippings, notes and index cards relating to Virginia history, authors and music. The collection also contained two books, James J. McDonald's Life In Old Virginia and Beverley B. Munford's Virginia's Attitude toward Slavery and Secession.
