Giles County (Va.) Apprenticeship Indentures, 1807-1885, are bonds and contracts of apprenticeship, showing the names of master and apprentice, the trade to be taught, details of the contract, the amount of the bond and the names of sureties. Many of the apprentices bound out prior to 1866 were "free Blacks" and "free persons of color."

Giles County (Va.) Arithmetic Book, 1800s circa, is a volume of handwritten mathematical exercises including geometry, scale, logarithms, military orders by the logarithms, trigonometry, heights, distances, and several exercises related to surveying by and without the chain. Many of the exercises in the book seem related to surveying and are illustrated to demonstrate the problem and the solution.

Giles County (Va.) Court Papers, 1866-1902, consist of Board of Supervisors records (1870); bonds/commissions/oaths (1876); clerk's correspondence (1875); judgments (1867-1879); accounts that cannot be matched with cases (undated); jury records (1879); one page from a Justice's Judgment and Execution Book (1901-1902 ca.); fiduciary records (1876; 1880); a deed (1879); organization records (1866); Overseer of the Poor records (1883); and miscellaneous records including a mechanics lien (1879) and a power of attorney (1879).

Giles County (Va.) Fiduciary Records, 1807-1961, include miscellaneous records filed in a local court by trustees, administrators, executors, guardians, and committees that related to the performance of their duties managing a person's estate. These records typically include the following; bonds, appraisements, audits, inventories, accounts, estate divisions, settlements, dowery records, etc. Information related to enslaved people are commonly found in these records.

Giles County (Va.) Judgments, 1870-1912, consist of judgment cases and other court papers. The collection includes county court judgments, 1873-1904; circuit court judgments, 1870-1912; and circuit court confessed judgments, 1881-1891.

Giles County (Va.) Marriage license and minister's return of John W. Slaughter to Senora J. Mahood, 1866 March 20, gives the date and place of marriage, full name of parties, ages of husband and wife, condition of husband (single or otherwise), places of birth, places of residence, parents' names, occupation of husband, and a certification by the minister as to his marriage of the couple.

Giles County (Va.) Records, 1806-1932, consist of the following series: Court Records (subfield series include Judgments, Clerk's Records: Correspondence and Criminal Records: Commonwealth Causes), Tax and Fiscal Records, County Administrative Records (subfield series include Overseers of the Poor Records), Land Records, Election Reoords, Road and Bridge Records and Fiduciary Records. Chancery Records have been pulled.

Giles County (Va.) School Records, 1887-1894, include Articles of Agreement, 1887-1894, between the Board of School Trustees for the Pearisburg District and school employees (teachers, principals, etc.) of white and colored schools. Collection also incudes a monthly report, 1892, of Bertha M. King's class. King taught at white public school number three in the Walkers Creek school district. Information found include names and ages of students, attendance during the month, and classes taught.

Giles County (Va.) Township Records, 1871-1875, consist of three volumes relating to the administrative functions of the township boards of the county.
