Two lists of surveys made by William & Mary. One is "since 30 of May 1786" and the other one is February 13th,1784 to April 18th 1785. Includes names and fees. There are over 1000 names and they have not been listed in this description.

Minutes of the meeting of Board of Trustees for the Transylvania seminary, 1787 July 18. Minutes state that they petition the General Assembly of Virginia that "one sixth part of the surveyors' fees arising within this district, hitherto applied and appropriated to the use of the College of William and Mary, for the future be paid to the Trustees of the Transylvania Seminary... and a committee be now appointed for the purpose of drawing up a petition to the above purport..." The minutes also include a request to the board that "entries and surveys of land within this district which are echeatable 12,000 acres of which are appropriated to this seminary ... not be forfeited since that haven't yet been settled.

Entitled "List of surveys made in Kentucky" by George May, June 1780. Includes names and acres. Names: James Curry, Thomas Denton, George Clark, ?Hugh M. Garry?, Stephen Trigg, George Caldwell, Isaac Shelby, Josephy Early?, John Craig, Elijah Craig, Craig and Mallory, Richard Carr (?), John Briscoe, David Adams, Charles Simms, and Henry Willson.

Letter from Richard Tunstall, Jr. to Robert Miller, Williamsburg, stating that he cannot be in Williamsburg for the Surveyor meeting to give new bonds but Mr. Martin will give his security, dated November 8, 1772.

Account of Surveyor fees, with dates, names and acreage, by William Parry to Richard Tunstall, from October 1, 1764 to october 1, 1766. Names include John Didlake?, John Dixon, Howard Williams, Dudley's Exors, Samuel Meredith, ? Davis, and, ? Collins.

Memorandum of surveys performed in King George County from April 14, 1775 and for a Moses Rowley on June 21, 1776. Gives fees charged, received and balance due the College. January 26, 1777.

Account of Surveys made by William Peters Martin, signed by John Blair, Jr., dated May 8, 1769. Includes years, names, in what county, acreage, fees received and fees not received. Names: Capt. John Quarles, Jane Bingham, Col. Thomas Moore, Nathaniel Fox, Roger Lipscomb, James Quarles, Jr., James Johnson, John Anderson, Jacob Valentine and James Neaves. Two entries in Caroline County for William Taylor.

Letter from William Pettit to Robert Williams, Williamsburg, dated November 14, 1772. Mentions an advertisement in the Gazette about Surveyors General "hath a good right to employ as Deputies whom he pleases, and sends such restrictions as he shall judge convenient." He also mentions "that my place is of little or no profit, there being no King's Land in this county," acknowledges he is in arrears, and that a bond was not mentioned in the advertisement.
