A collection of videos (some amateur, some professional) documenting special events such as matriculation, Ring Figure, graduation, speeches, and other topics relating to VMI activities and cadet life. The bulk of this collection dates from the 1980's forward, although a few date from an earlier period.

This collection consists of one scrapbook compiled by Cadet Clement M. Moss (VMI Class of 1921) that covers the period from 1919 to 1921. The scrapbook includes snapshots, dance programs, clippings, drawings, and other VMI memorabilia. Topics of the photographs include classmates and friends, cadet life, athletics, and VMI buildings.

The VMI diplomas collection consists of VMI diplomas from various eras. The oldest is that of Edmund Pendleton, Class of 1842. Contact the VMI Archives for a complete list.

This collection consists of one scrapbook (1917-1921) compiled by Cadet John B. Payne, VMI Class of 1921. The scrapbook includes photographs of cadet life, athletics, classmates, and buildings, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia.

The John H. C. Mann papers consist of the person papers of Mann, including:

• Two volumes of testimonial letters from Mann's former students at VMI, presented to him when he retired from the Engineering Department in 1967
• VMI Board of Visitors resolution
• Three oversized items, including Mann's diploma from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

This collection consists primarily of Marshall K. Berry's incoming and outgoing correspondence, the bulk of which dates from the period of his cadetship (1917-1921). Included are letters to and from his parents, which include many reference to VMI activities.

This collection consists of two documents concerning Gibson's Army Air Corps career during World War I. Included is a War department document in reference to a physical examination (November 1918) and a discharge notice (December 1918).

This collection consists of one notebook that contains typescript copies of the letters of Cadet Samuel Burton Wilson, Jr. (VMI Class of 1921). The letters (dated September 1917-June 1921) provide a detailed account of cadet life. The notebook also contains copies of relevant family photographs and genealogical information. The letters were transcribed and donated by Wilson's daughter.

This collection consists of the cadet scrapbook of Samuel L. Austin (VMI Class of 1921) that covers the period of 1916 to 1919. The scrapbook contains over 100 snapshots, as well as dance programs, clippings, drawings, and other VMI memorabilia. Topics of the photographs include:

• Classmates and friends
• Cadet life, such as parades, classroom scenes, spring hike, penalty tours, marching to class, and the gymnasium decorated for a dance
• Athletics, such as football, baseball, track, and basketball
• Buildings and grounds, such as statues, Francis H. Smith Academic Building, barracks, stoops, and rooms
• Special events, such as Woodrow Wilson's inaugural parade and a parade in Roanoke, Virginia
