The buttons holding the red cord are gold with the V.P.I. seal on them. Embroidered on the front of the hat are two crossing sticks and the letters "V" above them and "AMU" below them. The button is an oval shape with a maroon border and orange center. Maroon text on the button reads "VA. TECH." with two maroon lines under it. Written in pen on the lines is "G.R Sibold "98."
