The Carl George Krieger Papers include correspondence, speeches, notebooks, photographs, audio and video recordings, a scrapbook, and clippings and magazine articles on topics related to agriculture, gas, oil, tractors, air and water pollution, waste treatment, and public relations. Krieger (1905-1979) was the first agricultural engineering graduate at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1926, and he was a gas engine specialist and a pioneer in the development of the high-compression tractor.

This collection contains the papers of Carol Montgomery Newman, Jr., a graduate of Virginia Tech (BS in biology, 1931), writer and editor for The New Yorker (1949-1972), and Virginia Tech Department of English faculty member (1934-1949, 1972-1975). Includes correspondence relating to The New Yorker, including letters and notes from Charles Addams, Louis Auchincloss, S.J. Perelman, J. D. Salinger, and William Shawn; other materials relating to the magazine, including a manuscript poem by John Updike, drawings by Frank Modell, and newspaper clippings relating to various staff members; a selection of Newman's writings; correspondence relating to Virginia Tech; and materials relating to Virginia Tech's 1931 commencement.

The collection consists of scrapbooks, journals, V.P.I. reunion materials, photograph albums, family diplomas, and the diary of Nannie V. Sibold. As a whole, the collection dates from 1912 to 1990. However, Carrie T. Sibold's scrapbook journals, which run from 1974 to 1990, constitute the the bulk of the collection material.

THe collection contains the papers of Carter Perkins, Jr., a student at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (now Virginia Tech) in the 1890s and resident of Newport News, Virginia. The collection also contains university catalog of 1894-1895, school annuals (The Bugle) of 1895 and 1898, photographs, and fundraising literature for the construction of War Memorial Hall. The collection also includes two business account books, probably used by Perkins for bookkeeping coursework.

The C. Eugene Rowe Papers include materials created and collected by Rowe relating to Virginia Tech during his tenure on the Board of Visitors (1968-1976). There is also a small group of papers from Rowe's involvement in the Presbyterian church.

The collection contains papers of Chapman J. French, civil engineer employed by Norfolk & Western Railway from 1903 to 1950. It includes correspondence, memoranda, working notes, and specifications for projects as well as company and engineering department procedures. Also includes personal papers, largely relating to purchases for household and farm.

The Charles Kirk Collection consists of two slide rulers, a slide ruler book and a mechanical drawing set. The larger slide ruler is housed inside a black case with a button closure. Text on the front reads "K&E LOG LOG DECITRIG REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. SLIDE RULE 4091-3." Text on the button reads "KEUFFEL & ESSER CO. NEW YORK." Inside the case is a white slide ruler with silver hardware. Numbering on the ruler is in black and red. The smaller slide ruler is in a black case that has black tape wrapped around it. Text on the front reads "KEUFFELL & ESSER CO. BEGINNERS SLIDE RULER." inside the case is a wooden slide ruler with black numbering. The slide ruler book is a small book that is brown in color, with white pages inside. Text on the front reads "The LOG LOG DUPLEX SLIDE RULE A Self Teaching Guide" followed by publisher information. The mechanical drawing set is housed in a black case with two black button closures. Text on the front of the case reads "MADE IN GERMANY 47." Inside the case is a green velvet lining that holds 13 mechanical drawing tools, as well as a red cloth. A logo on the inside flap reads "SCHOENNER GS MADE IN GERMANY."

This collection consists of a letter from Payne to Walter S. Newman, VPI President (1947-1962), a letter from Newman to Miss Elizabeth Woolwine in the library, and a completed questionnaire regarding VAMC in the 1870s and 1880s.
