This collection contains numerous stereograms taken throughout the Jim Crow Era. The stereograms portray the racist attitudes of the time period. Stereograms are an early form of photography which was often used for educational purposes. When a view finder is used to look at the stereograms, the images appear to be three dimensional.

The Ephemera Collection contains material primarily acquired for teaching. It includes material in various formats, most of which have been previously published. The collection is currently being processed and new items will be added on an ongoing basis. For this reason, the indicated date range is approximate at this point.

This artifical collection includes board games, card games, stereoview (stereographic) photographs, broadsides, booklets, and postcards related to the presentation of gender and sexuality in the United States, including women's suffrage.

A collection of 107 stereoscopic slides compiled by James and Judith Bowers. Collection includes Colorado landscapes, Native American images, New York City-parade, interior, landscape, upstate New York landscapes, Auburn Prison (NY), Niagara Falls, Tioga (NY) interiors, Havana Glen (NY), Martinique Mt. Pelee volcanic eruption ruins, U.S. Capitol, Scotland landscapes, Gurney actress and theatre portraits, Anthony skeleton leaves, China (Peking) Imperial City buildings, London (England) street scenes and panoramas, Westminster Abbey, Stratford on Avon, Irish people and landscapes, Japanese women, Baalbek ruins, Jerusalem panorama, Switzerland landscape, Norway landscapes

Addition includes three boxes (359 sterviews) labeled "college life".

Includes approximately 80 stereoviews of Mt. Washington and the Cog Railway in New Hampshire, including the building of the Cog Railway. Most of these images were published by the Kilburn Brothers and B.W. Kilburn & Co of Littleton, New Hampshire, but also includes images published by the following: Clough & Kimball, Concord, NH; S. F. Adams Photographer, New Bedford and Oak Bluffs, MA; N. W. Pease, North Conway, NH; J. W. & J. S. Moulton, Salem, NH; Perry Mason & Co., Boston, MA; and F. G. Weller Littleton, NH.

The racial and ethnic ephemera collection contains various materials regarding race, ethnicity, and racism in the United States. The collection includes papers and items that promote racial prejudice and propaganda. The collection also contains items and papers that exemplify the fight for civil and equal rights. African Americans are the most broadly represented group in the collection. Other ethnic groups include Native Americans, Asian Americans, Jewish Americans, Muslim Americans, and Cuban Americans. Ku Klux Klan pamphlets and anti-immigration publications are also included. Through this collection, the American struggle of racism and prejudice is realized.

100 photographic prints on stereo cards (stereographs, b&w ; 9 x 18 cm. in case 19 x 19 cm) from the Keystone View Company's Stereographic Library Series (Rare Book Call No. D522 .W67). The slides were produced in 1923, but the photographs were taken from 1914-1921.
