The DeWitt Clinton Gallaher scrapbook and diary transcript (1863-1925; 0.25 cubic feet) consists of a travel diary of New England and Europe (1869-1870), chronology of Civil War battles (October 1863- April 1865) and an album of newspaper clippings on general topics including the University of Virginia and Professor Basil Gildersleeve (1915-1925). The transcript of his travel diary contains vivid descriptions of his travels.

Diary, 1915, titled "Seeing America First." In this diary, an unidentified couple of Worcester, Massachusetts, describes travels which includes stops in New York City; Pennsylvania; Delaware; Baltimore, Maryland; Washington, D.C.; Luray, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; Montgomery, Alabama; Mobile, Alabama; and New Orleans, Louisiana. Descriptions are very detailed and list not only sights visited, but comment at length on the social life and customs of places visited. Diary includes comments on billboards, New York Symphony, Lexington Market (Baltimore), John Hopkins, Synagogues (with derogatory comment), Georgetown ("particulary dingy and unattractive"), Arlington Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Natural Bridge and many other sights. There are quite a few comments on the Civil War, the Confederacy, and economic conditions of the South, etc. mostly of a critical nature. Several statements reveal a racist attitude of the travelers.

Scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, engraved invitations, drafts of newspaper articles, and press correspondents' membership cards. One volume contains War Department communiques, 10 December 1941-23 May 1942. Collection contains "The Rockefellers at Williamsburg" (EPM Publications, Inc., 1991) by Gonzales.

Scrapbook, 1964, of Donald L. Mulford which contains photographs of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Includes photographs of Barry Goldwater, Adlai Stevenson, Lyndon Johnson, Bobby Kennedy, Jackie Robinson, and many others. There are also photographs of an NAACP rally, Civil Rights demonstrators, and other events surronding the conventions. Finally, there are typed captions with most of the photographs, which are often critical of the Republican Party officials and complimentary of the Democratic Party officials.

This collection, which dates from 1935 to 1936, consists of a scrapbook that contains photographs, ephemeral items, and memorabilia.

Two scrapbooks, 1923-1924 and 1925-1927 of high school student Dorothy E. Howe of Omaha, Nebraska, where she attended Edward Rosewater South High School. Scrapbooks contain photographs, invitations, letters, written entries by friends, printed programs and ephemera.
