- Biographical / historical:

Dorothy Ann Lewis of Raleigh, North Carolina was born in 1918 to Wade C. and Irene Annie Lewis. In 1935, she enrolled as a student at then-State Teachers College in Farmville, Virginia. In 1937, Lewis married Edwin Earnhardt Flythe of Burlington, North Carolina.

This scrapbook, compiled by Dorothy Ann Lewis while a student at State Teachers College, was later acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. This collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives in 2006.
