Contains correspondence with Henry St. George Tucker regarding the maintenance of Lexington, Virginia's Col Alto estate, where Hart was residing prior to World War I. Also contains correspondane concerning WWI, including notices of military protocol. The U.S.S. Mongolia and 317th Infantry at Sea, and the medical detachment of which Hart was a part, are topics of interest.

Presbyterian minister Ebenezer Dickey Junkin's pocket sized bound scrapbook of articles submitted to the Presbyterian Watchman and Observer newspaper by his father, George Junkin, D.D. between 1853-1856. George Junkin, under the pen name Theophilus, wrote the series of letters to the Richmond, Virginia publication on the role of the church in higher education. They include his commentary on the relationship between chuch and government. Junkin penned the letters during his tenure as President of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia. E.D. Junkin titled the scrapbook, "Lux Mundi - A series of newspaper articles on the education question by the Rev. Dr. George Junkin, 1854 or 6"

The George A. Baxter Family papers begin in 1797 and trace the history of three generations of the Baxter family in Virginia. The collection contains both correspondence and newspaper articles saved by the family.

This collection is the papers of James Lewis Howe, professor of chemistry at Washington and Lee University (1894-1938), which include his correspondence concerning the Presbyterian Church and foreign missions, the Washington and Lee University chemistry department, the American Chemical Society and philately. Also included are notes on archival material for and typescript of Annals of Washington and Lee University during the administration of George Washington Custis Lee, 1871-1896 and addendum on the administration of William Lyne Wilson (1897-1900) and of acting president Henry St. George Tucker (1900-1901). There are also copies of chemistry class examinations from 1941-1950 and a course outline for chemistry class in 1949-1950.

This broadside by Reverend John Skinner, entitled 'Case of the Rev'd Dr. Skinner', was an important document in the 'Skinner War' controversy at the Lexington, Virginia, Presbyterian Church.

This collection consists of two matted albumen photographs of the 'Old Monmouth' church. The images are almost identical.
