There are also music performances and software programs on compact discs, floppy disk and audiocassette. Some areas of the collection are missing years from 1980 to 1990. The records are created by musicians and teachers in Virginia whose shared vision is furthering the art of music and promoting the growth and professional development of its members. It provides programs that encourage and support teaching, performance, composition, research, and students. Some of the Virginia chapters include Roanoke, Shenandoah, Piedmont, Richmond, Tidewater, Peninsula, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Highlands, and many state and private colleges.
