This collection is comprised of three different types of documents: various accounts from individuals who have worked for the Potomac Navigation Company; lists of all the men employed by the company which details the amount of work that was done; and receipts and invoices.

Fisher's memorandum concerning the removal of his goods and their worth. The goods were removed from stores in Southwark [part of Philadelphia, Pa.] by the Committee of the City and Liberties and Committee of Safety in June, 1776.

Papers of Mildred Jackson of Williamsburg, Virginia. She was a private piano instructor in Williamsburg, a performer with the William and Mary Music Department, and the wife of Dr. Jess Jackson, a professor of English at William and Mary. Includes lesson plans, music books, financial records, correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs, programs, and address books.

Dated 1839-1880. Letters, 1859-1880, to Miles C. Selden of Henrico County, Va., from Hill Carter at Charles City County, Va. and from Andrew Johnston of Richmond, Va. Also includes accounts, invoices, and receipts, 1839-1863, of Selden as trustee for Beverly and Ann S. Heth.

3 Bill of Exchange and promissory note documents from M.L. Day, maker, to W.B. Brooke, acceptor, notarized with embossed seal in Baltimore, Maryland on January 16, 1837. M.L. Day is from Richmond, Virginia and wrote attached promissory notes on October 15, 1836.

Accounts, bills and receipts, primarily 1878-1885, of M. M. Tankersley of Fife, Goochland Co., Va. who was apparently a merchant. Also in the collection are accounts, 1893-1910, (including tax receipts for Shenandoah Co., Va.) for Paul C. Orndorff and Early L. Orndorff. Collection is arranged in folders by date.

Personal and professional papers of Moncure Robinson dealing mostly with management of Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad in which he held controlling interest. Prominent correspondents include James Buchanan, Washington Irving, Dennis Hart Mahan, Winfield Scott and Abel Parker Upshur. Also included is the correspondence of his father, John Robinson (including letters from William C. C. Claiborne), his brothers, Cary, Edwin, Conway and Eustace Robinson and his brother-in-law John C. R. Taylor whose letters concern plantation management. Also included are notebooks of Wirt Robinson.
