The collection consists of academic materials and writings including 23 spiral notebooks, 42 bound noteboooks, and 1 term paper by Russel T. Smith. Notes taken in history and education classes at William & Mary (1970-1972, 1979); as well as notes in English, geology, government, and history classes at the University of Texas (1963-1969) are also included. The collection also contains a personal family history and manuscript composed by Russell Smith entitled "Random Reminiscences of the College of William & Mary During the 1970s." The manuscript is restricted until the death of the author.

This collection includes letters, addresses, compositions, and other material pertaining to Timothy E. Wetmore, a teacher and labor union activist in Wilson, New York. Although the bulk of the material is of a personal nature, there is also material related to the founding of Chapter 67 of the Mechanics' Mutual Protection Association in Wilson, New York, which was founded by Wetmore. Some of the topics discussed in the letters include politics and Henry Clay, local life in and around Wilson, education, and information about the Mechanics' Mutual Protection Association. The collection also includes by-laws, quarterly reports, and minutes from the first meeting of the Wilson, New York chapter of Mechanics' Mutual Protection Association, which was founded in 1849. Certificates, publications, and letters from when Wetmore was a student at Yates Academy, as well as a teacher at Wilson Collegiate Institute are also included.

Acc. 1981.094: Wayne F. Gibbs acted as an adviser and honorary member of student organizations related to accounting. The papers include the records of the Kappa Charter of Beta Alpha Psi, the professional accounting fraternity, for 1929 to 1936; the records of the Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional commercial fraternity, for 1928 to 1935; and the records of the Accounting Club from 1938 to 1955. Gibbs also acted as auditor and financial adviser to various student organizations, and the papers include accounts and audit reports from the 1930s, particularly for the Flat Hat, Sigma Nu, Kappa Alpha Alumni Foundation, and the Cotillion Club. A few items in the papers pertain to the activities of his wife, Beatrice M. Gibbs.
