Collections

This collection consists of newsletters and blogs produced by the University of Virginia School of Law. They document the School's history and may include news, announcements, event schedules, photographs, and feature articles.

Records, 1846-1961, of Nimmo United Methodist Church of Virginia Beach, Virginia, consisting of church registers, 1846-1961, containing information on pastors, congregation members, baptisms, and marriages for Nimmo Church, Tabernacle Church, and other Methodist churches in the Princess Anne Circuit, Virginia Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church South and in Princess Anne Charge, Norfolk District, Methodist Episcopal Church South; and minute books, 1886-1938,containing quarterly conference minutes and reports for the Princess Anne Charge, Norfolk District, Virginia Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church South.

This resource consists of online media collections that the University of Virginia School of Law curated and disseminated online. They generally consist of news articles, videos, and sound recordings. These materials document the School of Law's wide-ranging work and provide evidence of how the School markets itself to the broader world.

There are 84 items, 1716-1865, chiefly letters of Angelica Schuyler Church(1756-1815) and other family members, including her husband John Barker Church, brother-in-law Alexander Hamilton(1757-1804), father Philip John Schuyler, and brother-in-law Stephen van Rensselaer(1764-1839). Other notable correspondents include: Justus Erich Bollman(1769-1821); Charles James Fox(1749-1806); Thomas Jefferson(1743-1826); Marquis de Lafayette(1757-1834); Abraham Lincoln(1809-1865); Winfield Scott(1786-1866); Baron von Steuben(1730-1794); Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord(1754-1838); and, George Washington(1732-1799).

The collection primarily contains correspondence of the Randolph family and Nicholas family. Several land title records are also present.

This collection consists of the papers of the Randolph Family of Edgehill, (commonly called the Edgehill-Randolph Papers) and the Wilson Cary Nicholas papers, ca. 787 items (6 Hollinger boxes, 2.5 linear shelf feet), ca. 1765-1869, and undated.

This collection consists of photographic prints and negatives created by Peter V. Lacouture. They document the following events at the University of Virginia: the Moratorium of Peace (October 15, 1969), Senator George S. McGovern's Address to the University of Virginia community (October 10, 1969), and the "May Days" student strikes (Spring, 1970).
