This collection consists of reproductions of bronze plaques that served as a memorial to University of Virginia alumni that died in the Civil War fighting for the Confederacy.

The UVA School of Medicine records primarily document the history of the School at all levels of the organization during the 20th and 21st centuries.

This collection contains the records of RG-15/5 (Weldon Cooper Center/ Institute for Engagement and Negotiation (IEN) and consists of project-based information, meeting notes, and developed reports for various environmental and social justice issues, including Virginia waterway rehabilitation projects, hazard waste sites, economic development, traffic, affordable housing, food resources, national parks, and governmental regulations. Included are photographs and negatives of sites that the Institute protects and snapshots of staff; newsletters; and research material. Founded in 1980 as the Institute for Environmental Negotiation, it served as a leading environmental and public policy dispute resolution organization. Over its four decades of work, IEN's focus expanded beyond environmental sustainability to more intentionally encompassed environmental, economic, and social resilience. It was rebranded in 2019 as the Institute for Engagement & Negotiation to reflect this evolution. The Institute focuses on promoting sustainable environments, resilient communities, community health, fresh food access, social equity, and capacity building through training and leadership

The collection consists of materials that have been transferred to UMW Archives from the Office of University Relations and Communications, dating from 1984-2008. The majority of the collection's content includes public media materials such as television and radio appearances, and newspaper and magazine articles. The collection also includes correspondence, secretarial notes, speeches written by James Farmer, and documenation of some of Dr. Farmer's many awards and honors. These materials document James Farmer's career at the University of Mary Washington so the bulk of the contents pertain to the late 1980s and 1990s. This collection offers insight into the life of James Farmer's career as an educator and public figure later in his life.

Virginia Folklore Society records (1913-1967; 22.7 cubic feet) consist chiefly of songs collected by the society's fieldworkers in the 1930s under the direction of society archivist Arthur Kyle Davis. Sheet music, folklore, newsletters and photographs are also included, as are recordings of many of the songs.

This collection consists of print and digital copies of the Virginia Law Weekly. The periodical, managed by University of Virginia Law students, features news articles, opinion columns, humor articles, photographs, advertisements, and other content. It documents life at the School of Law, as well as student perspectives of the law and the broader world around them.

This collection consists of the Virginia Law Weekly's organizational records including founding documents, correspondence, and digital media. It also contains photographic prints, negatives, and contact sheets used in the production of the Virginia Law Weekly.

The collection contains tintypes, cabinet cards, cartes-de-visite and photographs chiefly from studios in Staunton, Va. Studios in Bridgewater, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, and Richmond are also represented. Among the few identified subjects are Friends at Olivet Church, Staunton, Va.; D[avid] V. Ruckman Home, Long Glade, Va.; William Bedford Campbell, David Van Meter Ruckman, II, children of Uncle Glen Ruckman, Pauline Ruckman, James Buxton Perry, Sam Ruckman, Glen Huston Byrd, Anne Irvine, Mrs. Rod Dudley. Of interest are interiors of an unidentified Victorian home, outdoor scenes of cattle, and a studio portrait of four fashionably dressed girls eating bananas.
