Background
- Scope and content:
-
Boxes 1-2 consist of black and white negatives, and black and white contact sheets and prints. Negative sizes include 4"x5" and 5"x7" sheet film, and 2-ΒΌ" and 35mm roll film. These images date from 1956 to 1970. The College of Agriculture sorted the negatives and proofs by subject. These subjects reflect the college's departments and the course of work in the early 1960s. The bulk of the collection is Animal Science, Horticulture, and 4-H negatives and proofs. Images in this collection include faculty and students, livestock judging and sales, Jacksons Mill, and many other subjects; the full list of subjects is available below. Additionally, there are three subjects created by the Center: Exhibits, Miscellaneous and Scholarships and Awards. College of Agriculture and Forestry photographer David Creel is credited with taking the majority of these photographs.
Box 3 is an undated addendum and consists of the College of Agriculture and Forestry sheet and roll film negatives and black and white contact sheets. Subject matters include agronomy, agricultural science, animal husbandry, plant pathology, 4-H, horticulture, rural area development (RAD), internation programs, and other subjects. These images date from circa 1950 to 1969. See also A&M 5235, West Virginia University, Extension Service, Photographs and Printed Material, for similar material.
