Background

Scope and content:

Assorted research papers and correspondence regarding the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and other material. Research papers include photostats and transcribed newspaper clippings, obituaries, assorted publications, and more regarding the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in West Virginia, the Nicholas County and Summers County areas in West Virginia, and other topics. Photostats and transcriptions seem to have been created sometime in the 1980s-1990s.

Addendum of 2024 November 5 includes transcripts of railroad history articles written by Roy Long; clippings, research files, and assorted publications regarding the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and other general railroad topics; and biographical materials regarding Roy Long and his career in railroads.

Addendum of 2025 February 10 includes two binders of photos featuring images of the railroad, its scenery and the Long family, including Roy Long himself.
