Background

Scope and content:

A brief narrative history of the Acord family of Nicholas County, West Virginia, compiled by George Wayne Accord. The narrative covers the years 1858-1974, spanning four generations of the family beginning with the compiler's great-grandfather, John Lewis Accord. He moved to Nicholas County from Raleigh County with his wife Mary Eliza (Meadows) in 1902. The narrative includes the line of descent; dates of births, deaths and marriages; and places relevant to the family. It also includes anecdotes and a family legend.
