- A collection of clippings from various newspapers for the period 1861-1873. The clippings were pasted in the register book of McClure House Hotel, which was discovered among the Ohio County Court records. Subjects covered by the clippings include Civil War military operations and battles, the inauguration of Jefferson Davis as President of the Confederacy, Ohio County election returns for 1872, a controversy over the reorganization of the government in Berkeley County, controversy over moving the state capitol, and the constitutional convention of 1873.
