Correspondence, accounts and miscellaneous papers of the Director of Libraries. These archives also include the records of the Division of Documents [1936-1942] and acknowledgements of library gifts by the University President [1951-1960]. Other material relates to National Youth Administration (payroll and rules), the department of Archives and History in Charleston, library budget, and staff changes.
Addendum of 1965 includes correspondence acknowledging gifts to the library [1936-1946].
Addendum of 1968 August 19 includes correspondence and accounts concerning the library budget [1935-1960], memoranda to University budget officers from the controller's office [1955-1964], correspondence and memoranda of faculty government and student counseling services [1962-1964], and correspondence between the Dean of Libraries, President of West Virginia University, John L. Lewis, and others [1960-1961] concerning proposals to acquire Lewis's papers.
