Abstract:
Copies of general orders, circulars, and letters, issued and received by Brigadier General Morris of the First Brigade, Indiana Volunteers, from May through July 1861. Most of the orders and letters pertain to the military operations of the United States Volunteers in western Virginia under the command of General George B. McClellan during the months of June and July. Morris was at Grafton, Philippi, Laurel Hill, Corricks Ford, and Cheat Mountain. Correspondents include General George B. McClellan and General Charles W. Hill.
