Background

Scope and content:

This collection includes broadcast recordings on cassette tapes, publications, scrapbooks, photographs, and other records and papers pertaining to West Virginia University Athletics Communications Office and their published works mainly regarding WVU football, men's basketball, and baseball.

Cassette tapes include audio recordings of radio broadcasts of WVU men's basketball, women's basketball, and football games.

Publications include media guides, score cards, and programs of men's basketball, football and baseball. Scrapbooks of newspaper clippings pertain to the 1968 football team, the 1951-1954 men's basketball teams, and others.

Papers include files of WVU Sports Information Director Edgar "Eddie" Barrett and WVU Athletic Director Robert "Red" Brown on the West Virginia Centennial Celebration. Other papers include publications, tributes, and photographs of former WVU and NBA basketball star Jerry West.
