- Records of the Laurel Chapter of the Mortar Board at West Virginia University, 1919-1979, include membership index cards, newsletters, a photo album, and two scrapbooks. The Mortar Board, a national honor society for college seniors, was established nationally in 1918 and on the campus of West Virginia University by 1919, according to membership cards. Index cards contain names and addresses of members. The Laurel Link newsletter, mostly from the 1960s, provides information about chapter projects, events, and alumnae. Photo album and scrapbooks contain photographs, programs, and other materials related to the chapter in the 1960s.
