Scope and content:

Over thirty illustrations of the Civil War in West Virginia and other topics from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, Harper's Weekly, The Scientific American and the New York Illustrated News between 1854 and 1892. Each record in this collection begins with the name of the illustration, followed by the publication it came from, if known, and any additional notes.
