Scope and content:

Papers of William Lantz (b. 1810), a Blacksville, WV farmer, constable, postmaster, and general store owner, and his descendants, particularly Remembrance Lantz. Included are family and business correspondence; bills, invoices, and ledger sheets relating principally to the Lantz family's general store; and militia documents and legal papers documenting William Lantz's activities as constable, justice of the peace, and commissioner of revenue for Blacksville.
