Acknowledges receipt of Nelson's last letter. Was preceded by a letter from the Governo r {Benjamin Harrison} appointing Barrett a Notary Public, which he no doubt owes to Nelson's and {?} Short's influence. Responds to Ne lson's questions concerning his suit against {Robert} Tucker's estate. Judgement was in N elson's favor, but there are other claims against the estate and Nelson's may not be satisfied. Col {Thomas} Newton, one of the execut ors, was discouraging. Will do what he can f or Nelson. Sends his wife Camilla's regards.
