Ledger, 1869-1870 recording expenses of the U.S. Navy shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. Entered are payments to bricklayers, machinists, coppersmiths and pattern makers, which are signed twice a month by George Thompson, Quartermaster, and witnessed by Charles Brian, Mate, U.S. N[avy].Note: The location of the Portsmouth naval yard was provided by the seller and has not been verified at this point.
