The collection includes a manuscript ledger and cookbook from Saluda, Virginia. The item is thought to have originated in the 1880's. About 100 pages are used as a ledger, whereas 16 pages form a recipe book. The cookbook includes pasted recipes taken from newspaper clippings and handwritten ones for vanilla cookies, mince meat and cream cake.
