Background

Scope and content:

This collection contains papers that document the Zuni culture and its history since the sixteenth century. It has more than forty pages of papers that includes recordings of social structures and rituals associated with the Zuni people.

Biographical / historical:

Sallie Key Meyers is the mother of journalist and novelist Harold Burton Meyers. Meyers was also the grandmother of Professor Emeritus of English at William & Mary, Terry L. Meyers. She was born in 1890 and died in 1938. She served as a teacher at the Zuni Day School in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico from 1928-1930.
