Background

Scope and content:

Ledger kept by Susan Prentice, owner, along with her husband, of the Cole Shop, a gift and book store located across the Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1950. The entries of the ledger include every item sold, cost of the items, both invoice and sale price, and the daily profit of sales. She also provided a total of net profit/ loss for each month.
