This collection includes material related to fashion designer Perry Ellis including photographs, invitations to his shows, programs from shows, and newspaper clippings concerning his clothing lines. Box 2 is entirely newspapers and news clippings.

Perry Ellis was born 3 March 1940 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B. A. degree in business administration. He received a M. A. in retailing from New York University. He worked for Miller & Rhoads, John Meyer of Norwich and the Vera Companies. He headed his own company and was noted for design of sportswear.
