Scope and content:

The scrapbook of Emily Calkins includes news clippings related to the College of William and Mary as well as events from throughout Virginia for the time period 1936-1942.

Biographical / historical:

Emily Eleanor Calkins graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1927. She also attended Columbia College in Florida, 1915-1917. She was a math instructor and professor at the College of William and Mary from 1927 to 1961. Acquisition information:
Acc. 2008.152 was transferred from the Society of the Alumni via Jeb Stuart Rosebrook sometime prior to 2007.
Custodial history:

The scrapbook includes a gift plate noting it was a gift of Emily Eleanor Calkins class of 1927 to the Pat and Agnes Paschall Library.
