This collection contains files pertaining to the Wightman Cup tennis tournament (including photographs) for the years it was held at William & Mary.

Several folders may contain sensitive and protected information. An archivist will have to review folders before patron use.

Biographical / historical:

The Wightman Cup was an annual team tennis competition for women contested from 1923 through 1989 (except during World War II) between teams from the United States and Great Britain. (source: Wikipedia)

The tournament was held at Kaplan Arena on the campus of William & Mary in 1983, 1985, 1987, and 1989. The Wightman Cup Room is located on the mezzanine level of Kaplan.
