Background

Scope and content:

The collection contains letters written by Jean Champion to her parents while visiting Havana, Cuba with her friends in 1939. In the letters, Jean describes her contact with diplomatic officials in Cuba, impressions of presidential candidate Fulgenico Batista, visiting clubs, and going to the beach.

Acquisition information:
Acc. 2015.180 was received by Special Collections in May 2015. This item was purchased with generosity from the Howard fund.
