Scope and content:

The records of the Hispanic Cultural Organization (HCO) document the College of William and Mary student group. The collection includes fliers, newsletters, meeting minutes, and other material typically produced by a student group at William and Mary. This collection includes digital materials. At least 72 hours advanced notice required for access of digital materials.

Biographical / historical:

The Hispanic Cultural Organization (HCO) is a student group at the College of William and Mary founded in 1999. The group's goals are "to unify and organize this Hispanic community, educate the William and Mary community about the Hispanic culture, and provide support for the international Hispanic students." Acc. 2007.003 was received from Jessa Enzabo, Historian of the Hispanic Cultural Organization on 2/28/07; Acc. 2009.190 was received from Marquis Stokes of the Hispanic Cultural Organization on 5/7/2009. Acquisition information for material received after 7/13/2009 is available by consulting a Special Collections Research Center staff member.

A portion of this collection was previously part of the University Archives Publications Collection.

Accessioned by Amy Schindler, University Archivist, in 2007 and 2009; arranged by Lily Rubino, SCRC Staff, in May 2009. Acc. 2011.293 accessioned and minimally processed by Steven Bookman, University Archives Specialist, in May 2011. Computer media migrated and processed in 2019.
