Scope and content:

Diary of Mary H. Akin (b. circa 1835) of New Bedford, Massachusetts. She began her diary on October 7th, 1875 and ended it on August 20th, 1876.

Entries comment on day-to-day occurences, family and social life. Some of the entries (going to Friends meetings) suggest that she may have been a Quaker. Also included is the description of a trip to Detroit and Chicago.
